Northwest Iowa has been blessed with access to Certified Nurse Midwives for more than 30 years. A birth center has been a dream for many of these years. Iowa has finally made changes to birth center laws and our dreams are coming true! We are so excited to expand access to midwives and offer another choice for birth in our community. Out-of-hospital birth is appropriate for low-risk pregnancies; midwives are experts in physiologic labor and birth. At Morning Glory, women will have the opportunity to move, eat, labor and birth in our deep birth tubs if desired. After a few hours to recover and stabilize, families are free to return home and tuck in their own beds and care for their newborn without interruption. What an honor it has been over these last 6+ years to attend over 300 births! I am looking forward to growing access to midwives and providing a new birth option for our community!
Certified in Women’s Integrative and Functional Medicine, I am also excited to bring a different approach to women’s health care.
